As Scotland's best loved poet and global cultural icon it is most fitting that tonight, folks around the world will be gathering to pay homage to Robert Burns on this, the great man's birthday.
Now as far as we are aware, Burns didn't own a Smartphone or tablet device to organise such gatherings but if he did, we’re sure he would have approved of the accessible and social nature of the web: embracing its infinite sources of inspiration and ‘networking’ potential.
As the star of any Burns Supper is clearly the haggis, it would be remiss of us not to mention the recent launch of renowned quality haggis producer, Macsween's new website and social media strategy. As guardians of Scotland's national dish, Macsween of Edinburgh has been handcrafting multi-awarding winning haggis for more than 50 years and are rather clued up about Burns too.
Macsween is immensely proud of its heritage and connection to Burns and central to its web presence is to embrace user interaction and ensure that all its great haggis and Burns-related content is viewable by all, regardless of whether viewed on a desktop, Smartphone or tablet.
Macsween don't just make delicious haggis - as Guardians of Scotland's National dish, we are acutely aware of the cultural status of this iconic dish. Burns is at the heart of haggis' Scottish identity and Macsween take enormous pride in keeping that connection alive and relevant to today's consumers.

An inclusive approach that would surely have got the nod from Rabbie himself, as he commented on Macsween’s Facebook page whilst wandering the banks o’ Doon!
