Kindles and iPads Took Over Christmas
According to a survey of over 2000 adults in the UK carried out by YouGov, 1 in 40 received an eReader as a present this Christmas.
This means approximately 1.33 milion eReaders were given, with Amazon dominating as 92% of these were Kindles. Over 60% of Kindles were received by women, with 55+ year olds being most likely to receive one.
Tablets also proved to be a popular gift. 640,000 tablets were given to adults this Christmas. Apple won the battle with 72% of tablets gifted were iPads. Again women were most likely to unwrap one.
