QR Codes at Bus Stops for First Glasgow

First Glasgow is now displaying Quick Response (QR) codes at bus stops to help customers quickly access its website during their travels.

All customers have to do is scan the code with a compatible phone to take them to the First Group site. The site currently attracts around 325,000 visits monthly from mobile users. In the medium to long term, First expects the use of QR codes to help increase visits to their site to around 400,000.

The aim of implementing QR codes was another way to help improve service offering to First customers. Alex Shearer, Commercial Director of First Glasgow said: "Increasingly our customers are using smart phones to access service updates and timetable information online. Displaying a QR code next to our timetable information at bus stops makes that process quicker and easier."

First Glasgow is among the first to use QR codes at bus stops. At the moment the QR codes are displayed at bus stops around Greater Glasgow with the intention for more to be rolled out, including bus posters across the country.

Where else would you like to see QR codes being used?
